The photograph depicts the daily pack train's dawn departure down the South Kaibab trail with the days' supplies to Phantom ranch, Grand Canyon. The blue cast is that of the first morning light becoming brighter with every second.

The Balcony House in Mesa Verde National Park was occupied in the 13th century by Pueblo Indians. The dwelling contains 40 rooms and is one of the best examples of room, passageway and tunnel construction in Mesa Verde.
